
Dr. David Gomez is an accomplished musician, conductor, guitarist, classical pianist, educator, and global music industry leader whose career spans performance, education, and artistic leadership. While widely known for his work in classical and choral music, his artistic identity is also strongly centered on live performance—particularly as a guitarist and pianist.

Dr. Gomez is currently focused on the American Songbook, actively performing in jazz duos throughout South Florida and across the United States. His interpretations of works by Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Richard Rodgers, Harold Arlen, and Antonio Carlos Jobim reflect a refined balance of harmonic sophistication, stylistic authenticity, and improvisational expression. His performances in intimate venues and concert settings place live music-making at the core of his current artistic work.
Alongside his performance career, Dr. Gomez is an experienced conductor and educator who has led programs across K–12, collegiate, sacred, and professional levels. His leadership includes work at major institutions such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, as well as ensembles including the New York City All-City Choir, Brooklyn Borough-Wide Chorus, the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory, The Stamford Chorale, the University of South Florida, and Florida SouthWestern State College. He has also directed international festivals in the United States, United Kingdom, and Spain, including collaborations with the London International Choral Festival and the Madrid Classical Music Festival.
A specialist in choral music and vocal training, Dr. Gomez has extensive experience mentoring singers in technique, interpretation, and performance practice, supporting both emerging and professional voices. His broader career includes leadership in the global classical music industry, with expertise in artist development, programming, fundraising, and large-scale event production. He is an American and Spanish citizen, fluent in English and Spanish, with additional studies in Portuguese and Italian. His academic work focuses on music in the Spanish-speaking world, supported by studies across Latin America and Europe, including a Fulbright Scholarship in Venice and a Doctorate in Conducting from the University of Oklahoma.
